The film which was shot in Udmurtia won a prize at the All-Russian Festival of Visual Art. It was announced by the Minister of Culture Vladimir Soloviev on his personal page in the social network “VKontakte”.
The creativity competition “Ot chistogo istoka” was held by the Russian House of Folk Art named after V.D. Polenov. The film, shot by the staff of the Republican House of Folk Art, “Akashka” (6+) was awarded in the nomination “For the preservation of traditional culture”.
The award ceremony and seminar will be held in St. Petersburg in October.
The competition was attended by video films representing traditional culture, original folk art, ethnography and history of peoples, as well as modern amateur art.
“Akashka” is one of the most important rites of the spring-summer calendar of the Udmurts. It was held the next day after Bydzımnunal (Easter).
