The V Regional stage of the JuniorSkills (12+) championship was started in the region on March 31. Children from all over the republic came to the children's technopark “Quantorium”. The correspondent of the news agency “Udmurtia” attended the opening ceremony of the championship.
The JuniorProfi regional championship was held in Udmurtia in 2017 for the first time. Today, children aged 10 to 17 compete in it. This year, 68 people from Izhevsk, Glazov, Sarapul, Igrinsky, Zavyalovsky, Kiznersky and Sarapulsky districts are taking part in the event. The works of children will be evaluated by 40 experts.
Schoolchildren will compete in three competencies: Mobile Robotics (10+ and 14+) – 15 teams, Internet of Things (10+ and 14+) – 10 teams, Engineering Design (14+) – 9 teams.
The participants of the championship were greeted by the Deputy Prime Minister of Udmurtia Anatoly Strokov. He wished them to cope with their excitement, success and victory.
I believe that it is very important to develop precisely these areas associated with engineering specialties for Udmurtia, which has always been famous for its technological structure
The Deputy Prime Minister recalled that mobile quantoriums have been launched in the region since 2020, which travel to remote corners of Udmurtia. Thanks to this, more schoolchildren from the districts will be able to take part in the competition soon.
In addition, Anatoly Strokov added that the championship would be held not only in Izhevsk, but also in other towns of the republic in the future.
I do not exclude that the next championship will be held in Glazov or Votkinsk where the activities of these quantoriums are also actively developing
JuniorProfi will last three days, the results of the competition will be announced on April 2. The winners of the regional stage will perform at the All-Russian technological festival “RoboFest”.
