Students and teachers of “Mendeleev classes” as well as students and teachers of universities of the scientific and educational consortium “Advanced EcoTechnologies” from Udmurtia joined the Mendeleev ecological expedition to Baikal. The press office of the head and government of the republic reported it.
Udmurtia will be represented by students and teachers of the “Mendeleev classes” from MBGEI Lyceum No. 1 named after N.K .Krupskaya of Kambarka as well as students and teachers from Udmurt State University (part of the consortium “Advanced EcoTechnologies”) during the expedition.They will go to Baikalsk of Irkutsk Region to conduct their own research.
The Mendeleev ecological expedition will take place in the city of Baikalsk, Irkutsk Region, from 5 to 14 August as a part of the international youth forum “Baikal” and the national project “Ecology” initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The participants will get acquainted with the methods of scientific research in the field of ecology, carry out independent laboratory work on the basis of scientific research vessels, study the Baikal ecosystem and scientific work that is now being carried out in the water area of the lake.
In addition there are teams from the regions of the Volga Federal District (VFD) - Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov and Kirov regions among the participants of the research program “Mendeleev ecological expedition. Baikal”. The authors of the best projects in the field of solving the problems of air and soil pollution, eliminating accumulated environmental harm, alternative energy and etc are included there.
The Mendeleev ecological expedition program will include thematic days on hydroecology, anthropogenic impact and biodiversity. Entertainment and educational programs from the organizers of the competition are planned too.
