Eight classes will be opened with the study of the Udmurt language in Glazov and Mozhga in the year of the 100th anniversary of the statehood of Udmurtia. This was announced on June 19 by the press office of the head and government of the republic.
The opening of national classes was announced by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic Svetlana Bolotnikova as part of a meeting of the working group on preparations for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the statehood of Udmurtia under the leadership of the chairman of the regional government Yaroslav Semenov.
Students of 1A and 2A of the Glazov school No.17 will begin to learn their native language. Each year, another class will be taught at the educational institution with the study of the Udmurt language. For students in grades 3-5, optional classes are organized.
Also at school No. 17, cultural and language projects have been launched since the start of the new school year. It is planned to open a museum room for ethnography and the history of their native land, a special study of the Udmurt language. There will a children's theater studio in Udmurtia and a musical ensemble. There will also annual regional scientific and practical conferences.
The 1st and 2nd floor of the school will be decorated in a national style; signs will be installed in two languages – Russian and Udmurt.
Teachers of the school note that the annual regional festival of Finno-Ugric creativity “Zvon Italmasa” for children and adolescents in the northern regions of Udmurtia will send an impetus to learning the language. This project is being implemented at the expense of the Presidential Grants Fund, which the school won in conjunction with the Glazov Linguistic Center. The amount of the grant is 370 thousand rubles.
The school plans to open a regional media center and conduct profile shifts for children from the north of the republic. The plans also include the opening of a Bilingualism Center, where not only children, but all interested residents of the town and Udmurtia can learn the language.
Schools ordered textbooks in Mozhga in order to resume the process of teaching the Udmurt language. They also acquired teaching aids for organizing circle activities.
Six Udmurt classes will appear in schools No. 1,5,9,10 Mozhga. 130 children will study in them.
The leadership of the municipality is considering opening a gymnasium on the territory of the town and holding the Republican event “Vorshud”.
In the anniversary year, students are invited to participate in the International Scientific Conference “100th Anniversary of Udmurtia Statehood: Historical Milestones and Development Prospects”. It is planned to be held this fall.
Recall that in the framework of the 100th anniversary of the statehood of Udmurtia, the Kuzeby Gerd Gymnasium is being renovated. In the educational organization, the assembly hall has already been repaired, and roofing works are next in turn.
