A ninth-grader from Izhevsk won the All-Russian online conference on ecology “Smart Saturday work-2020”. The press office of the Ministry of Education of Udmurtia reported it.
He presented a research paper on the Sepich River, which flows in the Zavyalovsky district and is a tributary of the Izh River.
The young ecologist was engaged in this project during the summer holidays. The student collected bottom sediments and then examined them. The analysis showed that the situation in the river was deteriorating. In his opinion, it is necessary to establish a permanent post on the river to monitor the water.
According to the conference participant schoolchildren and adults from Buryatia, Khabarovsk, Trans-Baikal, Krasnoyarsk Territories, Voronezh Region and the Netherlands presented 18 reports to the experts within four hours.
A resident of Izhevsk became the absolute leader and scored the maximum number of points.
The majority of the jury voted in favor of his performance, and they also highly appreciated his answers to questions.
