A monument to teacher has been unveiled in the Cosmonauts Park in Izhevsk. The sculpture appeared there as part of the celebration of the republican national Armenian holiday “Vardavar”. The press office of the head and government of Udmurtia reported it.
It is located in the garden of friendship of the Armenian public organization of Udmurtia “Urartu”. There is another sculpture there. It is a monument to the creator of the Armenian alphabet Mesrop Mashtots
One of the famous traditions of the holiday is dousing with water. On this day, it is customary to pour water on absolutely everyone, regardless of gender, age, social status and marital status. According to legend, water on this day is endowed with magical properties and it is able to cleanse from sins. It is believed that a person who is doused with water on this day will be successful and happy throughout the year.
A concert was held for the guests of the holiday with the participation of Armenian groups from Izhevsk and districts of the republic.
