A monument to the railroad men has been opened in the Titova Park in Izhevsk. The head of the Izhevsk Oleg Bekmemetyev announced it on the VKontakte social network.
This monument is the memory of those who brought the Victory closer during the Great Patriotic War. During these years, the length of the railway lines increased by 276 km in Udmurtia. Ammunition and food were transported along this road. 400 railroad men went to the front, 250 people did not return to their homeland. And 2,844 employees of the department worked in the rear.
