The annual festival “World Dumpling Day” in Udmurtia will be held from February 1 to 8, 2020. The organizers report that this year it will be called “Tasty Tale” (“Cheskyt Grunted”).
The already beloved holiday will acquaint residents and guests of the republic with the myths and tales of the Udmurts.
The main day of the holiday will be February 8th. On the central square of Izhevsk, guests of the event will go to look for the Great Book along with folk fairy-tale heroes. They will use the map, which will be restored in a large fascinating quest and various master classes.
The festival will include traditional culinary and creative workshops, outdoor games, performances, film screenings and readings about the history and traditions of the Udmurt people, a folk festival, sports competitions with dumplings, a fair and sale of dumplings semi-finished products, decorative and applied arts, awarding the Golden Dumplings Award.
In the program of the festival:
- Competition of illustrations and photo works "Either real or fiction ..." ("Olo zem, olo daur ...");
- Competition of snow figures "Lymy murtjös";
- The Yumshan project - a new history of Udmurt games in the yards;
- PelmenRun Family Run.
Recall the anniversary celebration of “World Dumpling Day” was celebrated in 2019. This holiday is one of the five best February gastronomic events in the country. During the “Hour of the subject,” Valentina Matvienko noted that Udmurtia has every chance of becoming the cultural center of the country.
